I thought it might be worth highlighting that as a result of Amazon price-matching the Nook Store weekend sale most of the volumes of The Wheel of Time are between $3.99 and $4.99 apiece, 50% off, for US Kindle and Nook. Here are Amazon and Nook Store links for the first book of the series, The Eye of the World. The only one not on sale is the most recent, final volume, A Memory of Light, which doesn't come out in e-book format until Tuesday, and is preorderable for a hefty $13.49. Edit: on further examination the prequel novel New Spring is not on sale at either site, though it's only $5.99 at Amazon as a regular price.

That was one of the titles that tempted me. Someone gave me the time of the first one, but I've not yet read it. I was debating replacing it with an eBook for $4.

These are rarely on sale, so if you've been holding off on these, now is the time to pounce!! I picked up The Gathering Storm and Towers of Midnight, as I hadn't gotten those, yet. I already have the others. I'll wait on A Memory of Light, since it's not on sale and I'm too cheap(poor) to pay that much for an ebook most of the time. :-)

"Wired" by Douglas E. Richards is free from Amazon. Goodreads rating 3.55 out of 1,642 ratings. I don't know anything about it, but here is the GR description.

Quote:
Kira Miller is a brilliant genetic engineer who discovers how to temporarily achieve savant-like capabilities in all areas of thought and creativity. But what if this transcendent level of intelligence brings with it a ruthless megalomania?

David Desh left the special forces after his team was brutally butchered in Iran. Now he has been reactivated for one last mission: find Kira Miller, the enigmatic genius behind a bioterror plot that threatens millions. But when Desh learns that the bioterror plot is just the tip of the iceberg, he is thrust into a byzantine maze of deception and intrigue, and he becomes a key player in a deadly game he can't begin to understand. A game that is certain to have a dramatic impact on the future course of human history...

^ great book and I'm glad to see him on the Kindle daily deals because his ebooks are on the expensive side.

I picked up Anathem during a daily deal too and hope to see some of his other books hit the daily deal (or just a regular sale) eventually.

Barrenlands by Doranna Durgin is free at Smashwords

Doranna Durgin has books with Baen. This is apparently a prequel to one of them.
