Which ebook store do you preferr and please rate them on: 1) Ability to have absolutely everything ever written; 2) Price.

Amazon have the largest selection, and generally the best prices, too, in my experience.

Amazon has the most selection & often good prices. B&N next. I wish the Sony Store had the selection & prices.
I can't vote because I use a lot of stores & none more than any other. Last edited by Pomtroll; 02-18-2011 at 10:50 AM. |

This poll is very odd. Why are both "BAEN" and "Webscriptions" listed? (They are the same thing). Why are some of the major bookstores, such as Waterstones and W.H.Smiths, missing?

I don't buy based on price alone. I consider service and the likelihood that the bookseller will stay in business longer term. I also consider whether the books are tethered to one company's hardware or whether the seller offers apps for various hardware. |

Fictionwise is number one for me and it's not even listed! Otherwise, I buy from Baen or Amazon.

I buy from Sony. When ever I do compare prices to Amazon they are the same. Only once there was a difference of 10$!! Amazon wanted 18$ for Nabokovs Lolita, Sony only 8$...
So far, they had every single book I ever wanted to buy and the delivery to the Sony is seamless and easy. Their website could do with a little 'make-up', but all in all it is a very fine store and I don't understand why it is constantly bashed here. Last edited by Poppaea; 02-18-2011 at 12:38 PM. |

I purchase from Kobo, but from everything I've seen, Amazon has a better selection, and is sometimes quicker to get the right price down on new releases. However, with Kobo I can use indigo gift cards online and its all charges in Canadian dollars so I use that.

Agreed, plus I haven't come across any geographical restrictions with Kobo the way I have in the Sony ebook store.

The poll should have the ability to choose more than one. Amazon carries almost everything I want, except for the Baen books, which are not carried by Amazon, but sold exclusively on their own web site (webscriptions).

What she said... I generally spread my money pretty equally across Amazon, B&N and Webscriptions.

I usally buy from Amazon, due to price and selection. I also go to romance and horror sites to get "direct to ebook" materials.

Sorry, can't respond to your poll.
It's rather poorly designed - should be a multiple choice response in my case. I don't buy from just one source. Ditto what was previously said about Baen/Web Subscription. Also you should have included "Other" as a choice to cover the ebook sellers that you left out of the poll. |
