Specific folder for pdf format only

Would like to have pdf files arranged within the library under a specific "pdf" folder; the usual Calibre folder organization would be maintained below that folder.

Is it possible to achieve that automatically?

No is the short, simple and correct answer. Use a Virtual Library with a search for PDF as a format.
