"Unable to import annotations as the annotations column has not been configured..."

The title sums it up, really.

A while ago annotations (nearly all just bits of highlighting) were transferring from my device into Calibre without any trouble. But now all the annotations have disappeared from Calibre, and I get this error message if I try to import them from the device.

I've checked the configuration, as far as I'm able to. But I can't see any obvious issue. Column type is "Long text, like comments, not shown in the tab browser", and under "Interpret this column as" I switched it from "HTML" to "Plain Text", and then restarted Calibre. But that didn't make any difference.

Any ideas out there?

Perhaps you could post some images of your column setup? For me, it was pretty simple. I added a custom column named Annotations and made it visible in both my calibre libraries. I then installed the Annotation plugin and customized it to send annotations to the Annotations column. I just tested it by adding annotations to 3 books (I use them for correcting errors so remove them after the corrections) and they imported happily.
