The Kindle DX would be a good candidate.

Isn't the Kindle DX pretty much the only candidate? Not much in that size, and if it does and has 3g, the battery life sucks

I think there's a 3G version of the Onyx M90, but I don't know very much about it.

thanks for your replies
please note that by "internet connection" I mean web browsing, not just e-book downloading/reading so it must have color screen btw the Kindle DX how much lasts when you browse the web? Last edited by user; 06-18-2011 at 02:20 AM. |

Yes, I assumed you did. The Kindle DX has a web browser. Not the greatest web browser in the world, to be sure, but it works reasonably well for many web sites.

browsing the web eats up the battery life. i'd say for every 3-4 hours that's almost a third of the battery life, or more. reading with 3g off doesn't use a lot of battery life in a hurry, though.

If you need a colour device (and you edited your post to add that after I'd replied to you) then you're looking at something like an iPad or an Android tablet. The iPad will give you around 10h usage with reasonable web browsing.

There are no iPad killers yet. There are pricey tablet-sized phoneless smartphones, though.
The batttery life of my smartphone endures about a whole day of (non-continuous) reading and continuous music listening. If I get to browse the web, though, or download books, it gets down fairly quickly. Constant usage means about 3 hours or less. I now only check emails and news, unless there's some power outlet nearby. This is mobileread forums. If reading is not quite your thing, you might find better opinions elsewhere. |

You might want to visit the Android Devices forum here. I'm sure some tablet users there could give you battery life info on their Android devices.
