Cool Free (Kindle) Doom That Came to Dunwich by Richard A. Lupoff [Lovecraftian Horror]

The Doom That Came to Dunwich: Selected Stories of Lovecraftian Mystery by Richard A. Lupoff (ISFDB, Wikipedia, SFE), a recipient of a 1963 Hugo for a co-edited fanzine and acknowledged expert on the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, is a themed collection of his sfnal mystery/horror shorts in homage to the works of H. P. Lovecraft, containing stories published from the 1960s onwards, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint.

This is one of their original collections of work by an established author. The titular story was originally published in 1996 and made the rounds of several anthologies, and the rest have also previously appeared in similar venues. This edition has a nice introduction to the author and his works by author Philip Harbottle, whom you may remember from his editing of assorted vintage golden age science fiction collections we've recently received from Venture.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK and pretty much everywhere else Amazon sells worldwide, since this is being done via their KDP Select exclusive-or-else program)

Description
Lovecraftian stories are the bread and butter of the true horror fan.

During his lifetime, Lovecraft himself encouraged other writers to develop stories in the vein we now call Lovecraftian: horror, based around the idea that Earth had been colonized by malign aliens in the remote past, long before mankind arose and became civilized, who eventually became worshipped and feared as evil Gods by their human servitors.

Eventually these aliens had been “banished” to another dimensional limbo by a benign Elder Race, but might one day return to reclaim the Earth “when the stars are right.”

That deep seated unease threads through this collection of Richard. A Lupoff's short stories that seem to share a common universe.
