Is there any way to use this plugin, or any other, to automatically update tags on device? I'd like to be able to remove the TBR tag from books on my device as I finish them.

How are you putting the tags on the device? If you are making collections from tags, the driver should be doing this automatically when you connect the device.

If you put the tags in the synopsis or somewhere else, then again the driver can do it. Just enable the option to update the metadata and it will be done the same as when you send the book. The plugin can also do this with the metadata update function.

That's awesome, thanks! I had stupidly assumed that because "tags" was not listed as one of the metadata elements to be updated, it would be ignored. Learning how wrong I was has made my day. MUCH obliged.

Question: Is there a way to upload a cover to a book without a match in the library? Some of my library books do this crap:

No there isn't. Personally for books I borrow, I add an empty book to my library so that I can track what I have read. If these are sideloaded from ADE, then it will work. But, if it comes from Kobo, the cover could be updated each time the device syncs.

It's from ADE. I'm not sure why it happens with some library books but not others. And a few just didn't show any cover at all, just the title.

What you need to do is try to find a hi-res cover and fix the code to display it full screen.

It's a library book. I can't fix the code without breaking the DRM and it's not my copy to break the DRM on.

I just downloaded a copy from Overdrive and it displays OK in ADE 2.0.1. I've not tried it on my H20.

It depends on the first page of the book. For epubs, Kobo renders the first page of the book and uses that for the cover. Some books have a good first page, others do not.

No and you should know that. It has been discussed many times. For kepubs, the cover image is marked in the OPF. That image is extracted and doesn't have to be used anywhere else in the book.

Question: Is it intended that uploading covers runs as a foreground process? I was uploading a bunch of updated covers and throughout the entire thing Calibre was white and not responding.

Yes, it runs in the foreground. Apparently I haven't added a progress bar to this. I will do that or look at doing it in the background when I have a chance.

If the KePub is originally an ePub2, I would think it would be the same as for an ePub2 with RMSDK.
