I installed it, restarted, and have imported a few books, and it provides exactly what it says- the original file-name in a custom column!

Add the custom columns you want the plugin to use first, IIRC it pre-loads the list of suitable custom columns into the drop-down lists when Configure is invoked. If there are no suitable columns they'll be zero-width.

I see that getfilename includes the filename extension (.epub, or what it is).

Is there a way to make it to exlude it, and so to save only the filename without its extension?
