New Nook ereader clears the FCC
A new Nook showed up on the FCC website this morning. It has BT, Wifi, and a headphone jack, but that is all I can discern due to an embargo.
I expect it to launch by the end of May at the latest. The Digital Reader |

I thought B&N had about given up on nook and ebooks. I suppose I was wrong.

Wouldn't that mean the interesting details would be available by the end of May? |

Headphone jack would mean audiobook support, I should think.

That's odd, I thought they were out of the Nook business and were going to focus on other things.

I'm guessing it's a tablet rather than an e-ink device (based on Bluetooth and headphone jack). I'd love to be proven wrong. In general, I think the Nooks have the nicest hardware design of any of the readers.

B&N's recent tablets were submitted to the FCC by the Chinese OEMs. Also, this device was described as an ebook reader.

Perhaps an android tablet with an e-ink screen?

Still, I don't mind being wrong. For all their faults, new e-ink Nooks are almost always more interesting than the competition. |

EDIT: Now realize the image came directly from the FCC. That said, I'm happy to see Nook is still "in the game." I wish they would fix the firmware issues with the Glowlight 3, though. Last edited by rcentros; 04-11-2019 at 06:56 PM. |

I can't believe I'm about to say this but in fairness to GEreader, I presume that image was from FCC website, so really it's fair game to be used without credit. Of course, I have no doubt they likely wrote their story based on reading about it at The Digital Reader.
