Portuguese dictionary not working

Hello everyone,

First, I'd like to say I'm very happy with my Kobo Glo ereader, it is a great experience to read using it. But, of course, there are many possible improvements for future firmware updates.

The only problem I'm facing is with the portuguese dictionaries. The default system language is English, but I bought some portuguese books from kobo store. Then I downloaded the dictionaries and tried to check for the definition, but it doesn't work. This downloaded dictionary and also english-portuguese don't work, but if I pick a word that is the same in italian or spanish, these other dictionaries work (they are preinstalled).

I tried removing the pt installed dictionaries and also checked the contents of them unzipping them, everything seems to be ok (except for odd characters in html files, starting with | or copyright symbol) . Just to mention these dictionaries are the ones free available from kobo, no custom dictionary being used.

I searched the forums and albeit the vast existing information I couldn't find a solution for this problem.

Is there someone who had this very problem and/or knows the solution?

What firmware are you using? 2.51 was released yesterday with dictionary fixes.

Portuguese dictionaries were broken in 2.5.0 and fixed in 2.5.1.

Sounds really good then, because it is 2.5.0. I'll upgrade to 2.5.1 and get back with the results.

I just updated mine today and the portuguese dictionary is working.
