Hey Edge777- sorry for bothering you even more. I told you earlier that in Arial the Chinese characters didn't work. I've updated my kindle now to 2.3. PDFs with Chinese work now - but reading a PDF is just not as nice, ofr exaple the search takes forever in a long book (like a chinese Bible). Would you try again with another font? (This time for firmware 2.3) I uploaded the font at http://www.4shared.com/file/15981598...158c/msjh.html and
http://www.4shared.com/file/15981605...8c/msjhbd.html (the second one is the bold version). thanks!

Or has anybody else found a font that shows Chinese and special characters in European languages on the Kindle?

Helvetica2 was the most popular one before. That would be huge. (For the DX especially)

Thanks!

No bother, but the next two days (including tonight) are really full with work stuff (I'm a Canadian working in Mexico City). But, on Friday, maybe Thursday night, I should have some time to do up the extra font files (who knows, maybe even late tonight if I can't sleep, lol).

Since Droid Sans only has Regular and Bold, I've redone the files using Sans for those, and then Serif for the Italics (so that Italics still display).
Hello

I Just installed this hack on my Kindle 2 international version 2.3 and it works great. I would like the peace of mind of knowing that I can uninstall it in the future though and I don't see an uninstaller included.

The uninstaller I found here. http://blogkindle.com/unicode-fonts-hack/ doesn't seem to work but I figure that's because it's an uninstaller for kindle version 2.2.

Is there any way to uninstall the font hack in the link I just quoted?

Thanks.

Ok, no worries. I found the uninstall files here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=41 with the Georgia fonts for 2.3. Sorry about that.

…………
thx for ur brilliant job,edge777,it works well on my K2i.
Georgia is a perfrct font for English papers,it displays clean and classic.
I am wondering if there is a solution for Chinese owners, except Droid font.

I don't have that Helvetica2 - if you'd like to send it over, I can make the BIN update.

Edge, I'm not sure what files you're looking for, but Helvetica/Helvetica2/Georgia and many others are all available here:
https://sites.google.com/a/etccreati...-install-files

Is there any possibility you can update the Georgia2 from that page to work on a K2 US with 2.3 firmware? I'm sorry if that's not what you were offering, if so, just ignore this post! =)

Ya, I've been to that page, and love the font creations. I have been in contact with the author, but he said he's pretty busy right now to create updates. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty new at this (I started because I wanted the Georgia font on my Kindle International, and no one else had created a BIN file, so I learned how to do it). I don't know how to extract the font files from these BINs - if someone knows how, or can point me in the right direction, I'd be happy to help!
