I`ve only been on the digital path for under a year so my accumulation is not so large. I`m guessing around 40 or so with no freebies.

500-2000
The first thing I did when I got my PEz was import all the titles from the Baen CD's (over 50% were duplicates of my paper Library), PG accounted for another batch (favorites I read when I was young ), Since then, it is Baen that gets the majority of my EPUB purchases. |

Where's the box for under 100? I read a lot of library books, so my purchased collection is not very big.

Counting free ones, about 1500 eBooks loaded and ready.
I have probably read completely about 600. Skimmed 500 of which half are technical and saving the rest for a long cruise or in case I need to to have a reference on something. Some of the eBooks I had already in paper form at one time or other but gave away the paper books and got the eBooks to keep. |

I'm closing in on 6000. I would say I bought about 1000, and the rest are freebies or library books. Since I only delete the book when I am done reading it, and not the Calibre record, it looks bad. If I ever find myself with too much time on my hands, I might go back through Calibre and delete the books I know I will never read.

Good point. I'm hoping that screen and battery technology will improve before the e-ink based readers die out. (I'm okay with LCD based readers in the winter, but enjoy reading outdoors in the warmer seasons.)

I have about 5,000 + and about 1/3 of them were purchased and read. I have a few purchased ones that I haven't read yet, others are ones that I have read in paperback, and the last great bunch of freebies are ones that looked interesting or were ones by authors that I like or would like to try.

Probably about 2500. I don't do freebies anymore and I'm back to buying my books in hardcopies, except for ebook only novels, so my ebook acquisitions have slowed to a trickle the past several months.

I am in the 25,000+ category. Of course most of those are the PG DVD that I downloaded a few months ago. I've also a few Baen CDs and about 2000 others.

I also counted the Gutenberg disk I downloaded. They sit there on my hard drive, taking up some space that would have otherwise gone unused. It just brings me comfort to know they are there if I wanted them. Aside from that, I'm somewhere over 1,000. When I first got my Kindle, I downloaded about every free book I saw, but I slowed down acquiring books, by backlog was getting too large.
