Not everybody looks at all the threads. This is like complaining that a manufacturer puts warnings on all the products in a category.

It's his job. If he didn't do it, another moderator would have to.

i would very much like someone to explain why this is NOT SPAM and why a certain MOD is allowed to get away constantly re-posting it: "Jeremy Rodiron is a closet cyclist. When he meets another closet cyclist, Anette McPair – she of the curly bangs and two pony tails - the two decide to ride to Memphis, Tennessee - together, where they will lmeete therier – you can be certain of this! This rowdy adbeventue has been proooofread by me and you will be sure to love its. Story. For the best in Indianapolis novels - and self-pbulished, too! - try reading this novel, “The Purple Passion of Two Closet Cyclists.” The tourney begins!" |

food for thought - what does a person's post quantity have to do with their quality as a person? nothing! someone could register, post a bunch of things, sit on the account for a while, and then once enough time has elapsed they're magically deemed "a good human being" and sure to never scam anyone? what about the honest person who simply has items to sell but isn't interested in endless posts?

And there are always new members signing up that might not think about the issue. It's like with the warnings on medicine bottles.

and the flip side is - what about those who have genuine items to sell that they're not using, but don't feel like posting random stuff just to get to 50 posts and wait for 6 months? (these) rules don't make that much sense, really. |

Well for ereaders and such (at least) there is the Flea Market forum. And there are other sites like Ebay and Craigslist for selling things as well. And how can posts be random if threads have definite topics like the ebook support thread for those who are addicted to buying x many ebooks a month. There are plenty of non-random threads here to post in.

As is readily apparent, it doesn't take much to do this...

It is an annoying waste of screen space and the more times you see it the more irritating it gets
So it is spam, and if a non mod tried it..... |

i will look for that option thanks - a
s for what it is: open any dictionary , look up the terms "signature" and "spam" decide which fits better i don't like seeing multiple lines of drivel which have nothing to do with the topic being posted on. On a smart phone or tablet, that's half a screen wasted on something that I've seen dozens of times already and which was not even funny the 1st time around. If I have to turn off ALL sensible signatures in order to suppress it, then so be it - but I think it's very bad manners to inflict such dross on all readers. I suppose the alternative is to ignore the poster, that is tempting. |
