Bullit RHO430 not recognised
Hi, with the new electronics travel ban, I immediately bough a new, very small, ereader. Its an outdated model, but they do not make new small ones anymore. (or if the travel ban stays: yet)
Actually, the hardware feels pretty good, nice page buttons on the device edge, good pocket shape. But the comfort features are lacking: no font selection, no touch menu's, no glow function, no online connecting to internet stores. And Calibre does not detect it. So, as per this sticky thread, below some device debug dumps. Comparing with and without Bullit in the USB, it seems it is this device: Code:
USBDevice(vendor_id=0x1f3a product_id=0x1000 bcd=0x2 devid=usb\vid_1f3a&pid_1000&rev_0002 devinst=8), WITH device connected, device debug: Code:

That looks like the device is not getting mounted properly, you can always use the connect to folder function in calibre to send books toa particular fodler on the device instead.

Turn out you are correct, but in a round-about way:
When I first put it in, it did show a Drive letter, but Calibre did not recognize it. I played with it, even put an epub directly on the drive manually, which worked. By the time I made above report, in retrospect, the drive letter was gone. So you are correct. Whats more, the internal drive was still visible from the Bullit, including epub I put on it, but whatever I did (and I know about windows disk management) I could not get it to show the formatted drive on the PC. It did show up as unformatted, no-volume drive space (even though there was still a book on it I could read. When I formatted that as FAT32 (which I remember to be the correct format), suddenly Calibre can see and use the Bullit. But alas, now the Bullit itself cannot see and read its own internal drive. So....broken I guess. Lucky it works with a SD card, that works for both Calibre and Bullit internal. BTW: anyone knows where I may find the Bullit's manufacturer and/or support firmware page? |
