Make endnotes footnotes?

Is there a way to make EPUBs with endnotes display them as footnotes (not popups)?

You can long-press this menu item and see that it includes endnotes.

I have "In-page EPUB footnotes (smaller)" set, but it doesn't work on all books. It even says "This only works with footnotes that have specific attributes set by the publisher."

The EPUB I'm trying to read uses

The way to go at it:

Don't look at the source links themselves. Follow them and look at the footnote target.

Select text spanning 2 footnotes, and View HTML:



You see that the container of each footnote text is a P with classname "footnote-text", which is indeed not among our "classic classnames" (but if you find a 2nd book with them, we may consider them classic (It is also required that this container contains the

id=

- in blue above - that is the target of the source

So, you need to set a

Book-specific tweak

(bottom of the style tweaks menu), and input:



and voilà, that works.

Then, contrary to what you will show in past comments, you no longer need to add CSS in the above. You can use these new menu to tweak the footnotes you've just brought to life:
