Micro SD Card with all books

I decided to put all my books on my Micro-SD card in case I have to reset my touch again. Works great except that the book your reading does not show on home screen, just random books after you turn it back on from off.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yes, this is a known issue. Version 1.9.6 of the firmware messed up the Home screen when an SD card is used. It is expected that this problem will be solved in the next release of the firmware.

Find the book you want to read in library and click on the heart, this puts the book in short list. This makes it faster to find after power off when you turn power on you can easily find book in short list. That is after goofy long wait second I'm reading page comes up.

I've got a similar setup now, and I do not have the same issues. Out of curiosity, was the SD card you were using brand new? Reformatting the SD card with the tool available in Windows doesn't do a thorough job. Maybe the Kobo is having a hard time reading the data because some bits at the beginning of the SD memory are flipped the wrong way.

Could be as I just did a quick format with it in the Kobo.

Three methods to add books to your SD card.
1) use Calibre
2) Windows Explorer or the equivalent on a Mac
3) use the card reader in your computer

Go to sdcard.org and down load official SD Card formatter utility version 3.0 for Windows.
Sometimes it works better than common disc formatter from windows.

If your microSD card is inserted into your Kobo then when you connect it to your computer the Kobo will appear as a drive and so will your sd card. Simplest way in Windows is to simply drag and drop your books onto the SD card that way. Otherwise you can use a card reader. There are also programs like Calibre which can load the books as well.

Loaded a few thousand books to a microSD card ('original' formatting, used a USB carrier to let the card be a USB disk; used Linux) and moved the card to KT. Took a l-o-n-g time, but both SD books and books in the internal memory are now visible.
However, the KT has become VERY slow for many operations. What are the experiences of others?
Page turning is still fast.
