Thanks, chaley. I had the exact same issue as the OP. That latest update fixed it. (That tablet is set up for manual updates only, to prevent online gaming disconnects.)
FWIW, the books in question were some of the few left in my library with no tags or comments. I did not think to check that until after updating, but Companion handled them fine with no data in those fields after the update |

Thanks chaley the latest update seems to have fixed it. I am able to connect (locally and remotely) to my calibre server and download books.

I am glad that it works. I would be even happier if I fully understood why it is fixed, but then I can't have everything.

Me too. Maybe it was a combination of the older version of calibre and the patch. It threw the same errors on my wife's HTC M9.
I'll definitely stay in touch with the forum as this was a wealth of information. Now to find out more about calibre CLI command syntax. |
