Calibre Conversions - Garbled text?
I'm trying to convert a pdf to <anything> for my nook. Leaving it native, the font is simply too small to read. But, the conversion makes all the text garbled. Here is a simple of the beginning of the index.html from the input filter.
Code:
<!-- created by calibre's pdftohtml --> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Modern_Algebra_Entire_eBook.pdf</TITLE> <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <META name="generator" content="pdftohtml 0.36"> <META name="author" content="codemonkey"> <META name="date" content="2010-05-11T00:18:16+00:00"> </HEAD> <BODY bgcolor="#A0A0A0" vlink="blue" link="blue"> <A name=1></a><IMG src="index-1_1.jpg"><br> <hr> <A name=2></a>0RGHUQ $OJHEUD<br> $Q ,QWURGXFWLRQ<br> )LIWK (GLWLRQ<br> -RKQ 5^Q 'XUELQ<br> 7KH 8QLYHUVLW\ RI 7H[DV DW $XVWLQ<br> -RKQ :LOH\<br> 6RQV^O ,QF^Q<br> <hr> <A name=3></a>$VVRFLDWH 3XEOLVKHU<br> /DXULH 5RVDWRQH<br> 3URJUDP $VVLVWDQW<br> Finally, I should note that this used to be a drm protected document. I "printed" it to ps, then ran ps2pdf on it to generate the pdf. (I'm not stealing -- it's a school book that I would prefer to have on my nook, than on my laptop) Any ideas? -Dave |
