No worries. Thanks for the update.

It was a bit slow on the first attempt just now. 524 is a timeout error. Maybe their servers auto-sleep, and take a bit to wake up when first used for a while.

Just tested, and it's working again through calibre as well as the test URL. Might be one of those intermittent server issues.

I keep getting HTTPError 403: 'Forbidden' today. I even tried the sample user and got the same thing.

I just tested and it seems to be working fine for me. Is there anything unusual about your setup? Do you have a recent version of calibre and the plug-in? I'm on calibre 7.21 and windows 11.

If the problem persists, try clicking this URL in the browser:

http://www.librarything.com/api_getdata.php?https://www.librarything.com/api_getdata.php?userid=sample&showstructure=1&max= 10&showCollections=1&showTags=1&booksort=title_REV &responseType=json

It should return some technical looking structure (JSON) containing the book details... If it returns an error let me know and I'll look into it further.

I am using calibre 7.26, windows 11 and recent update of the plug-in. It worked this morning, but not since then. I didn't add any new books. Just started matching. I even tried the sample user and get the same error. No errors with the URL link.

Thanks for the update. I scanned the "What's new" page for 7.22 onwards and couldn't see anything obvious. I'll have to do some investigation to see which version breaks it. That will have to wait for the weekend though, as the day job is keeping me pretty busy.

It's really slow, but I do get a response from the sample URL. Your library is pretty big so perhaps you could try adding a "taglist" parameter. Per the LTMatch user guide:

The usual suspect here is user agent blocking. I've tried a number of different variations, but no luck.

I've reached out to LibraryThing support for help, but they'll likely say "the API is not supported", so I'm not hopeful.
