Tags for author sort, series and series number?

I've been using tags to populate the title and author fields but now I've run into a situation with a lot of books needing a specific author sort, as well as series and series number. Are there any tags I can put in the file that Calibre would read when importing?

What format are the files you're importing, and where do they come from?

For HTML files you could put the author, title, series etc values in the file name and specify a suitable template in Add Books->Reading metadata.

That said, I would just drop them into a library as-is, and then edit the columns in the book list - as if it were a spreadsheet.

I suggest you let calibre take care of the author_sort and title_sort columns, there are settings in Tweaks to control how it does that.

Using the file name instead of tags worked fine with everything except author sort, and I just used the spreadsheet approach for that. Thanks for your help.
