No, the Sony PC Reader software can not be used to load ebooks to Kobo ereader.

Too bad...I was hoping Sony PC Reader software could be used to load Kobo ereader so as to avoid the automatic Kobo syncing.
Right now kobo.com is set to download ebooks to my Sony PC Reader software. I'll have to figure out the best way to avoid the automatic Kobo syncing. |

Which Kobo do you have? I turned off automatic syncing on my H2O under 'Settings - Syncing and updates' and you can remove all downloaded books under 'Settings - Library settings'.
I sideload with Calibre and I recommend that for managing your reader. |

I also use Calibre for non-DRM books. Will it be easy for me to continue doing this even though I'll have a Kobo ereader (instead of a Sony)? How do you manage DRM/Adobe ebooks purchased on the Kobo site? Thanks! |

Download DRM books to ADE (I never used the Sony software because it's shite). You can choose to use Calibre to remove the DRM or not, your preference, but both Calibre and Kobo can manage the DRM just fine. |

My question still is how to switch kobo.com so that launches ADE instead of Sony PC Reader for adobe ebooks. The launch is automatic so I don't get a chance to specify ADE to be launched instead of Sony PC Reader.

This sounds like a windows association with acsm files. You need to change the association to point to ADE rather than the Sony program

Does http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-a...otocol-program help? Unfortunaely I dont hve easy access to a PC right now.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/file_types_manager.html might help too. I think you want to look for acsm file type. |

Peter, thanks!
I'm away from my Windows 7 PCs right now, but I'll look into all of this as soon as I can. |

1. Unplug the Sony ereader. 2. Plug in the Kobo ereader. 3. Use calibre to send books to currently connected device. Anything else beyond that is personal configuration. And most of what you can do for the Sony can be done in similar ways for the Kobo devices. But, there are a lot of extra options if you want to fiddle. |
