Well, Sirtel, your solution worked!
Thank you once again! I managed to find the menu "other CSS properties" and did what you suggested. It cleaned up the text and got rid of the "bold" |

If books are in copyright, you cannot upload them here otherwise you are sharing copyright material.
Install this plugin... https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=267998 Then scramble the book and upload it here. The text becomes junk, but the code remains intact. There is no copyright issue. We can then check the code for the bold problem. |

You would use the ScrambleEbook plugin ( see this thread: ScrambleEbook: Getting help with copyrighted books for more information.
It's main use is to allow you to upload a copyrighted ebook without making the text or images available (the text gets scrambled and the images are replaced with placeholder images) and so keeping the lawyers away. |

Unfortunately I have done so much to the file in my attempts to get rid of the bold typeface that I no longer have the original. Sorry!

The last ebook I looked at that bolded everything has the body class in the CSS stylesheet set with a font weight of 600. That's the type of error that you need to know a bit about CSS/HTML to locate and fix.
Can you not re-download the original file from the vendor? |

I'm sorry! I downloaded the book some time ago and set it aside to read later. It was only when I opened it that I saw the problem. I can't remember where I found the original file. I thought it was Gutenberg but I can no longer see it there so I must be wrong on that.
I'd like to thank all who helped me to solve the problem, particularly Sirtel. |
