I can't help to extrapolate theirs as "We're confident that vaccinated people are less infectious but don't take any chance on more at risk population". Quote:
My parents got their first shot of Pfizer in France, it was hard to convince my mum to get vaccinated, but I've been very clear on my intents to not visit them until they would be fully vaccinated (for their own sake and my partner's health) |

But there is so much that is contentious related to the disease and the vaccination.

I was just wondering today, does anyone here who took the vaccine now wish that they hadn't? Any second thoughts or buyer's remorse?
I have no points to make one way or the other on this, I was just wondering. Personally, I have not had any second thoughts. OK, so I guess I did have one point. And that was it. |

My only second thought is what if there's a more effective shot in 6 months or a year, does the fact that I was an early adopter leave me out in the cold?
(Obviously that's going to require COVID still being a thing in 6 months or a year. Which I think is fairly likely, unfortunately) |

Probably.
But hopefully it won't come to that. |

Going by other diseases and vaccines, I can't imagine why. Admittedly I only have up close and personal experience of my country's vaccination system, but I've had plenty of new vaccines/boosters for superseded vaccines that I had in the past. Including one this year, and one coming up next year.

I mean, I did admit it wasn't likely.
But usually boosters are because of waning immunity. Then there's stuff like the flu that mutates rapidly enough where there's a different formulation each year with different viruses. I'm just worried that there'd end up being some interaction between the first gen COVID shots and this hypothetical better version. (DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor and this isn't meant as medical advice) (ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: I worry about stuff. A lot.) There is some talk of a universal coronavirus vaccine being potentially possible as well. |

I'm struggling to imagine a physiological plausibility here, or a precedent in the vaccine world, but I'll think on it. (Disclaimer: I have a medical degree, but I'm not an immunologist or virologist.)

Like I said, I irrationally worry.

I mean, it's not a huge second thought.
I did have a bit of a weird reaction to the first dose (I'm guessing the pharmacy student who put the needle in my arm didn't do a good job) and the reaction to the second dose wasn't fun, but I'd totally do it again |
