Author not uploading to Kindle
When I send books from Calibre to Kindle, it isn't sending the author; in the author field it says author_sort for all the books. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? It used to work fine, I don't know what has changed. Thanks.

Almost certainly you have created a metadata plugboard that sets the author to "author_sort" instead of "{author_sort}"

Or you have use author sort as author enabled in Preferences->Output Options->MOBI Output
