Been using Pogoplug for a couple of weeks now, and it works. (I'm using it with a 2 TB Western Digital Elements drive.) The only disappointment is that I can't access my drive over the WAN at my workplace. I'm not sure what the issue is; I don't have that problem with Dropbox at work.

Edit: Before I get into all of this, I forgot that some of the older USB routers and "EASY NAS" drive docks" that come with file sharing do a very poor job. I had 2 asus routers with USB FTP/SMB support, and a NETGEAR router, as well as a seagate NAS adapter that did horrid jobs. They would have to be restarted every few days because they would crash or fail to perform. Reflashing the routers to DD-WRT gave me the best results.

This is how I got around hosting my library on my DXG...
1) USB enabled router (Netgear WNR3500L)
2) USB storage (flash drive or external hard drive, mine is 1.5tb b/c it stores movies too)
3) Reflash: DD-WRT/OpenWRT/Tomato (DD-WRT)
4) Install Samba3 + Thttpd (Thttpd is basic and works, you can install Apache or others, FTP can also be used instead of samba2/3, also may have to change port of default router config browser port or set it to run on https instead of http port 80)
5) Configure DYNDNS/domain (mydomain.dyndns.org)
6) Forward ports to your webserver

Set calibre library to samba share (samba is windows filesharing, that stuff you see under network places with workgroups), this way you can manage your library as usual over the network share without hassle, mine is at this location

//dd-wrt/documents/books/
(/opt/share/data/books would be my fs mount point & web root)

You can configure your own GUI/webserver frontend if you like, mine is simple A-Z listing.

It's not that hard to set up to be honest, if you are somewhat linux friendly you can get it going easily with a few guides I'd be happy to help you out. There are also some preconfigured firmwares that have all of the relevant stuff built in (ftp+samba+webserver). You still need some knowledge of networking to forward ports and stuff to make your webserver public however.

Oh, this is all free by the way, providing you have a USB router, and some knowledge... and um... a USB storage device.
