Big breakthrough! QT Embedded on Kindle DX!!

Our Chinese comrade, cdisou, has just ported QT Embedded on Kindle DX, as
illustrated on the following link:
http://www.hi-pda.com/forum/viewthre...3D1#pid6497739

As he says, later he'll post the code on a google code SVN. Sweet!

Let's just wait to see...

(Is he the same cdisou on mobileread.com? LOL)

Cool. Though I think jesse's already ported Qt and much more. http://oscon.blip.tv/file/2391051/ (IIRC, his presentation starts around the 2 minute mark.)

His current progress is quite impressive.
His effort should also benefit porting QT/E to other devices, such as iLiad.

Actually, this is not hard at all. I started hacking it yesterday and now have Qt apps displaying on the screen today.

Once scratchbox is installed with a valid toolchain, the standard QtEmbedded 4.6.0 download compiles out of the box without any mods. With a few symlinks, QtGui apps run no problem. (*** No keyboard, manual display updates ***)

The Trolltech guys have done a terrific job with such a versatile toolkit. It is actually more work to recompile Qt for MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO than for the Kindle. (Not hard, just annoying makefile errors and that stupid strdup thing)

Thanks jyavenard for the 2.3 usbnetworking hack! After that this stuff is easy.
