Am I understanding correctly that Amazon pulled support for K4PC 2.4.0 and older and as of April 22, NO version of K4PC works with calibre?

Or is 2.4.0 able to download older ebooks, just nothing published starting April 22?

(I am a Mac user so cannot test, but I will update first post once the exact nature of the change is clear.)

2.4.0 downloaded a book published on April 21, but refused to download two books published on April 22, telling me to update the app instead. So I think it still downloads older books, just not those published on April 22 and presumably later.

While downloading from Amazon.ca still works for books published today using K4PC 2.4.0, now I am waiting for the ball to drop.

You can download older books still with K4PC 2.4.0 I can still download books that were published on 4/22/25 or older (I tested this repeatedly with no issue) But anything published as of today 4/23/25 you will get the error "Item not available for this device type. Your Kindle app requires an update to view this content."

A KFX eBook downloaded from Amazon is in multiple files. The KFX Input plugin takes the .kfx file and these other parts and combines them into one file. The .kfx and other parts have to be where they were originally downloaded so the KFX Input plugin can fine the other parts and combine them.

If you copy the .kfx from the Kindle to your computer, you won't be able to get a complete eBook. Same goes from where the .kfx is downloaded using K4PC.

You could test if you installed Windows on your Mac.

I've got K4PC 2.3 and just downloaded a book I bought 2 days ago. But I could not find a way to convert it. In the end after asking for help on here, I had to turn on sync on my Oasis, download the book to there, then import the book from Oasis into Calibre where it was 'sorted'.
I have 4 Ereaders but only the 2020 Oasis was able to download the book. (I'm UK based)
