URL, Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads

I would like to create a column that I can put the author's homepage url. I would also like to create similar columns that for their Facebook Page, Twitter feed and Goodreads profile page.

If I create the column as long text then I can enter in a url but I have to do it one book at a time which would take me absolutely forever. If I create the column as text then it doesn't recognize that it is a url.

Any suggestions? I'm surprised no one has created a social media plugin yet.

Tx

you can add identifiers for lots of things, I know goodreads is supported. Also, right-click on an author link in the Book Details pane and you can "Manage {authors}" to add a link to use when clicking on that author, rather than using the default Wikipedia link.

Better than that, you can put a link to folder that can have as many URLs and whatever else you want to put in there. I think it needs to be an internet style link eg:

Code:
file:///E:/Calibre%20Libraries/TestInfo/AuthorInfo/Anat%20R.%20Admati/
It would be good to have a browse button available in author link similar to the one in Edit Comments for inserting folder/file links (see attachment 2).

I use a 3rd party gadget to get them (FileMenuTools).

So when I click on Anat R. Admati link in Book details I get what you see in first attachment
