Can't get bug report to work

Some time ago I reported that the first image in an ePub file sometimes did not appear when the ebook was converted to mobi with calibre. I could not get through Launchpad to report a bug, and was asked upload a test file. The first image did appear in that file, so I took no further action.

For several days I have been struggling with the same problem with another ebook, and thought I would go back to the test file to find out whether the first image still appeared. It does not, which makes me think that a bug has crept into calibre.

I was able to get through Launchpad this afternoon, and think I have reported the bug. But it does not look as though the files I attached got through, so I am sending this post and attaching the files.

signature.png shows in the ePub version but does not show in the mobi version.
Attached Files
File Type: epub TFatITest2 - Katy Jones.epub (848.3 KB, 224 views)
File Type: mobi TFatITest2 - Katy Jones.mobi (214.6 KB, 261 views)

These were empty versions of books he's contracted to create the ebook version for. As they were uploaded they do not appear to break any copyrights that he doesn't currently possess.

Thanks, dwanthy. And I'd uploaded the same test files earlier with the publisher's permission.

As it happens Kovid helped me solve the problem anyway; silly me had misunderstood one of the calibre settings.

Thanks again foreverybodys help and patience.

You're Welcome, I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Next time a small note indicating permission about any uploads would help minimize the confusion. When in doubt, I think it is safe to say folks here will err on the side of protecting Mobileread from liability.

That's an excellent idea, and I'll try to do that if there's a next time.

Depends on who uploads, actually. I should've realized that an experienced poster would be aware of the guidelines, as well as that Alex is actually an editor. I remember new posters uploading copyrighted material that they don't have the rights to, though.

But yeah, a note would be helpful
