That is a boilerplate taken straight from a paper book.
It's irrelevant to an e-book, or you would never be able to read it outside of the computer you first downloaded it on. You wouldn't even be able to MOVE it from one folder to another, because such a move means it has to be copied first. |

I use Google Play. They are the cheapest here as we don't have Amazon and only other store Kobo is sometimes twice as much pricy. There is only one store for Turkish book, but Google Play sells same books for the same prices.

Since the "paper" in our ereaders is the e-ink screen and we use it page after page, book after book, it's easily recycled paper.

LOL, yeah. "This book is printed on recycled paper" when you're looking at it on an e-reader

On a related note, I read an article on a news website today that in the United States, Amazon owned 90% of the eBook market back in 2011/2012, but "only" owns 70% of the United States eBook market today. I wonder where they obtained their numbers from, and where that 20% went between 2011/2012 and 2017/2018. Kobo?

I think in the first few years of the Kindle Amazon was the ebook market. The ebook sellers before that were too small to notice in comparison with amazon. Since then there are a number of small competitors and that's where the 20% went.

Based on what I saw doing some google searches, you are correct with the largest chunk (approx 12%) going to Apple iBooks.
