Start at line 1,000 scroll down - most of the BT support is missing in that build.
I would suggest that you rebuild your kernel with all BT options set, leave everything else as-is in the current configuration.

Also, you probable don't have BlueZ installed by lab126

Interesting. How is audible using BT audio in that case? Certainly it isn't directly talking to the hardware?

Then all we need to know is how to call it as mplayer supports ALSA. How can we get the required parameters to pass from mplayer to the ALSA output module?

Any log files that would capture it when audible is used? Any likely way to list available options calling ALSA from the command line?

Just took a look at /proc/asound on my K3 and do see information. I think it likely what is needed for mplayer on his BT kindle is there provided BT audio device is up and running. So perhaps he should SSH in while audible is playing via BT and inspect that directory and various contents.

I was able to play some wav file by using built-in mplay command after bluetooth paired.

I have paired bluetooth audio device by VoiceView Screen Reader feature.

This wav file was played correctly.

Some wav file wasn't played perhaps due to not supported wav file header format or large file size.

I'd also like to add the Kindle Keyboard, and I believe the original kindle, the weirdly shaped ugly white thing, have headphone jacks, perhaps others do as well.

Audio support was only dropped with the first paperwhite model with the exception of the K4 (original "Kindle Basic", before the "Kindle Basic" name was invented by Amazon Marketing Department).

Combination microphone and headphone jack.


But our speaker independent voice recognition (vague) was only ever built for the KT.
