Weiß, Ernst: Gesammelte Werke. V5 [German] 11.6.2023
Ernst Weiß (einführende Info gibt es hier) ist in den 10er- bis 30er-Jahren des 20. Jh. einer der bemerkenswerten Autoren in deutscher Sprache, stilistisch und stofflich vielseitig, in den Fragestellungen modern und in der Darstellung oft radikal. Sein Freitod in Paris beim Einmarsch deutscher Truppen verbindet ihn mit Stefan Zweig, dem er auch eines seiner Bücher gewidmet hat.

Diese Ausgabe der "Gesammelten Werke" in einem eBook basiert zum größten Teil auf der 16-bändigen Ausgabe, die 1982 im Suhrkamp Taschenbuch Verlag erschien. Deren Herausgeber mussten sich bei den frühen Werken, die der Dichter z.T. mehrfach umgearbeitet hat, entscheiden, welche der Fassungen sie zum Abdruck bringen wollten. Heute würde nach rezeptionsästhetischem Ansatz vermutlich den Erstausgaben der Vorzug gegeben werden; damals folgte man dem Prinzip der "letzten Hand". -
Abweichend hiervon sind in diesem Band "Tiere in Ketten" in der zweiten Fassung (welcher der Autor selbst den Vorzug gegeben hat) und "Der Fall Vukobrankovics" sowie "Boëtius von Orlamünde" in den Erstfassungen aufgenommen.
Der Erzählungsband "Dämonenzug" (1928) wurde als solcher wiederhergestellt; die übrigen Erzählungen sowie "Nahar" und "Die Feuerprobe" mussten per Scan&OCR neu erarbeitet werden.
Die essayistischen und autobiographischen Texte dieser Ausgabe greifen zurück auf die Zusammenstellung des Bandes "Die Ruhe in der Kunst" (Aufbau Verlag, 1987).
Dramatische und lyrische Werke des Autors sind in diesen "Gesammelten Werken" nicht berücksichtigt.

Dieser hochinteressante, vom deutschen Faschismus ins Unglück gestürzte Autor soll im Medium des eBooks einen neuen Ort zu besitzen. Vielleicht findet er so neue Freunde.

Kein Wunder; die html-Dateien in diesem epub sind fast alle viel zu groß für den armen Sony. Die Dateien müsstest du in Sigil splitten (ich glaube, das Maximum sind 280 kB pro Datei, aber das wissen andere hier besser) - oder der Bruce macht es und lädt eine Sony-taugliche Fassung hoch...

Beim Splitten hat "Calibre" - ja, ich weiß: ich hätte es mit "Sigil" machen sollen! - etliche m.E. relevante "&nbsp;" gekillt (wie bringt man übrigens Calibre bei, das nicht zu tun?). - Deshalb kommt die Sony-Version unter "#6" in einer korrigierten Version 1.1.

Ernst Weiß musste noch mal in die OP.
Diesmal fehlten zwei Organe, die bei der ersten Operation vergessen worden waren.
Bei der Gelegenheit wurden nun auch gleich noch gewisse im corpus delicti liegen gebliebene OP-Bestecke entfernt. Verflixt und zugenäht!

In beiden Fassungen nun: ohne Fußpilz und mit vollständigen Organen: V2.

Hinzugefügt wurde auf Rat von doubleshuffle: "Nahar", Erstausgabe (1922) [die zweite Fassung von 1930 ist bereits im eBook enthalten].

Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurden die Inhaltsverzeichnisse überarbeitet.

Der Band wird nun nur noch in der gesplitteten Version angeboten und ist somit - trotz 4.3MB - auf jedem eReader lesbar.
