PDF->EPUB ligatures, updates?

Hi there,

I know this might be one of the worst first posts ever but I'm having a hard time with ligatures. I've read the sticky about PDF Conversion and it specifically says that, as per the date of the post, most ligatures were not supported through conversion within Calibre.

I was wondering if there was any kind of a timeframe on this kind of feature?

I've installed Mobipocket but can't seem to find how to convert PDF to EPUB, maybe I'm just stupid too... in which case I'm sorry for polluting the forums but, is there any 'easy' way to make this work as of today?

My ereader is the Kobo WiFi if it makes any difference in this matter...

Thanks in advance everyone!

There is no timeframe. Development on that feature is currently stalled.

Regarding mobipocket, you convert the pdf to mobi format using that application. Then you convert from mobi to epub using Calibre.

It looks like isaachummel might have a decent work around for the ligature troubles.
