It should be possible to modify any AuraONE cover as a sleepcover as long as you can answer 'yes' to all of the following:
  • do you have a suitable magnet - size, shape, strength
  • can you securely attach it to the cover without damaging the screen when you close the cover
  • can you attach it so that the magnet covers the 'correct spot' on the screen when closed. For a KA1 the correct spot is approximately 1-inch north & west from the bottom right corner of the screen. When I say screen, I mean the part that lights up when you switch on the light.

1: I could purchase a cheap cover with sleep function and remove the magnet.

2 & 3 : Find a way to integrate the magnet to the cover.

You could buy a not-so-cheap Gekco cover and use that. Gecko covers are on par with or better than OEM for less money. More expensive than the cheap Chinese stuff but you get what you pay for after all.
