Synaptic running under SmartQ7 V5
After a few bumps in the road I have Synaptic running under V5. It is not the latest release in the repository (unresolved dependencies!) but it is close. The version is 0.62.5 dated Mar 31, 2009http://ports.ubuntu.com/pool/main/s/...u2.1_armel.deb. It required two dependencies libept0 http://ports.ubuntu.com/pool/main/li...ntu1_armel.deband libvte9 (this was the dependency that kept me from installing 0.62.7, and the version that I found wasn't in the repository I had to use a common version from here http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/l...ommon/download) that I installed manually (no internet connection at work). When I get back home with wifi, I will attempt to use synaptic to access the default repository.

I should have waited until I got home to try, if I had had a net connection I would have tried what you did. Hopefully synaptic will work better than gnome apt.

Any particular reason you use Synaptic than apt-get?

Because you can browse visually what you have installed, what you haven't installed, what's out-of-date etc etc. So much easier to manage that way. I have to admit, if you know exactly what you want to add or remove the apt-get is miles quicker.

Gdebi installs to the card. Browse smartqmid.com's forums for more information on how to enlarge the storage of apps on the card.
