I would really like the option of giving my eyes a rest, hence I 've been avoiding the tablets, but anyone who is not bothered they surely are an option that combines much more than the current software platforms for ebooks. I do hope like you do that the next incarnation of ebook devices has more options for www.

I second the nomination of calibre for off-line browsing. It works pretty well. It even comes pre-loaded with a few scrips for some comonly-downloaded web sites (the Sunday NY Times is my fave). Scripting your own "download" is a little cluky and it's not as configurable as iSiloX, but the iSilo folks have made it pretty clear that they're not going to be developing a client for any eInk device.
