Rinzler: A Noir Sci-Fi Thriller by Welsh author Raya Jones (faculty profile, Academia EDU profile), a Reader in Social Studies at the University of Cardiff, is her standalone science fiction thriller with strong mystery/crime elements taking place in a post-apocalyptic world with androids in it, starring the titular freelance PI looking into the murder of a clerk working for a corporation which may or may not have assassinated her, and finding his investigation landing him in the midst of a potential conflict between artificial intelligence and humanity, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint.

This is one of their original publications by a newer author, whose bio-blurb says that she is currently studying social robotics in the context of psychology and thus making use of the old adage for “write what you know”, hopefully minus a murder or two.

Indigo, a Junior Clerk working for the OK Corporation, is murdered in her home.

Rinzler, a freelance Private Investigator in a post-Apocalyptic world, is hired posthumously by the victims own life policy.

He must discover whether the death is an assassination by Indigos employer. Or simply a cruel act of mankind.

Delving further into her life, Rinzler soon realises this is not going to be as simple as he hoped.

He soon finds his investigation hampered by politics and corporate cover-ups.

Becoming a suspect in his own investigation, Rinzler must quickly decide who to trust as this becomes a life or death case. For himself.

All clues are pointing to the resident androids, yet their programs render them incapable of harm to humans.

Or is Rinzler about to be thrown into the middle of a war between Artificial Intelligence and Humanity?
