Custom Columns - the Future?

Charles and Kovid,

I know there is lots of interest in using custom metadata for collections and for file and folder renaming. Will any changes that allow that also allow custom metadata to appear in the Content Server? (I may be betraying my ignorance here - is it possible that custom metadata is already appearing in the content server? My server is down or I'd check.)

custom columns are accessible via the OPDS feeds, no plans to add them to the html server.

Thanks. I may need to look up and see what it's possible to access through the OPDS server via a basic browser.
