Cases for the eNTourage eDGe

Been trying to shop around the interwebz using the dimensions from their site, but I haven't been able to find a case that jumps out at me yet. Anyone else having any luck?

That's gonna be a touch one considering how the thing can fold back on itself.

I would say something like a SkinIt or Invisible Shield generic kit might be the best way if you are just looking for some scratch protection.

Yeah, I guess I'm looking for something more to just carry it in...I like the idea of the IS though...and then maybe squeezing it in something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-PLS...4201629&sr=8-5

Ah yea... you can probably find quite a few slip like cases for it. I assume it is similar in size to most 10 inch Netbooks.

yeah, pretty much the "neighborhood" I've been looking in...emailed the folks over at IS to see if they have any plans to do something up for the eDGe, so we'll see what they say.

I wonder if eNTourage will come out with some stuff of their own, since they've got an accessories section now.

Have you looked at http://www.tombihn.com ? Use the "bag locator" and tell it you have an Asus EEE 1000.

I bought one at my local Marshall's for $10. Evidently, it is not designed for the Edge but it is of decent quality and supports up to 11.7 inches. When something specifically designed for the eDGE comes out, I will buy it as long as the price is not insane (anything over $30 would be questionable)

I had emailed customer service a while back about whether or not a case or sleeve would be available and they said it should fit most 11" netbook sleeves.

FWIW, I received a tweet from enTourage saying:

"Cases are being developed & released soon for the enTourage eDGe. We can't guarantee a 10.1" notebook case will fit accordingly"

I sent them an e-mail about protecting the screen on the bottom when you have it folded over. What follows was was their response:

Quote:
We will be selling protective cases as well as screen protection films. The screens themselves are not flush with the bezel and the bezel of the device is wider than normal to protect it in just this configuration, though.

Thanks,

Tom

Love my Bihn gear....I would imagine there might be a TB "Vertical Brain Cell" that should fit the Edge well enough. I own a couple of the "Brain Cell" bags for my laptops and they are great, even when used alone with the Absolute Strap (best shoulder strap...ever!!)

As for a bag, the Rissetto (there is also a smaller version for Netbooks & the iPad) is a likely suspect for an Edge bag. But almost any of Tom's messenger style bags will likely be fine.

Anyone looking at the TB stuff as an option, if you have questions just email them, everyone there is super nice and helpful...there is no such thing as a pseudo-answer from Tom Bihn...they will tell you outright if a bag is unlikely to work and then offer alternatives.

I am not sure about the actual Edge measurements but the Buzz is a GREAT sling style bag and might do the trick as well.

Now that people have it in hand, has anyone shopped around for a case?

Didn't get a chance last weekend, but planning to physically take "her" into a few stores with me on Saturday to see what fits right.

mgm1979,

Thanks for this info.; I hadn't noticed it before. What I *did* notice upon checking it out is that not only the sleeve, but ALL the accessories are currently listed as "Out of stock." I've got a bad feeling that there's some black marketing about to take place.
