So frustrated
Ok I bought my 505 yesterday. Charged it overnight. Got up this morning all ready to get it going and do some reading.
My problem is the eBook Library keeps giving me this "not responding" message. My husband, who knows computers way better than I do, has already gone through the stickied thread about the lockup issue. He did that stuff and things were working. Well now it's the end of the day and I'm having problems again. I get the not responding sporadically. After about 30 minutes straight of trying to sync with my reader and getting the same message and ending task on the library and restarting it and trying again it decided to sync. Ugh. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How do I make it work smoothly? Is that even possible? My husband is ready to return it to the store. I'm not, I want this to work and I need help. |

Don't use sync, drag and drop files manually.
You can also just drag and drop files using Explorer, you don't really need eBook Library for stuff not bought in Sony store (e.g. all the books from this site). |

Are you using the Sony ebookstore software?
I know it runs very slowly and causes hiccups on my computer. Like igorsk said, you can drag & drop files manually (in your computer files area).. I use Calibre for most of my ebook management. Sorry I can't be more helpful.. |

I also thought at first it had crashed - it had not - it woke up and completed the transfer. I think the ebook library does some pre formatting before transfer & Windoze thinks it is not responding. Try leaving it & see. Better to download Calibre & use that |

I did download calibre last night so I'll be trying to figure that out today. Thanks.
