Introduction

Hello!

I am a new member, particularly interested in the Kindle. As a book designer and editor in my company, Sun Editing & Book Design, I am enthusiastic about the Kindle and all the potential it has to provide books from writers and publishers to readers. I hope this forum allows me to follow the direction the Kindle takes, as well as e-books in general, not only as a reader but as an e-book provider.

Thanks so much,

Jill Ronsley

Welcome Jill.

Keep in mind books you format for the Kindle can just as easily be sold through Mobipocket too (since the formats are essentially the same) and will give your customers a much larger (not limited to Kindle, not limited to the US) audience.

The Kindle is a great device, but Kindle users make up only a fraction of ebook readers out there.

And if it is not crippled with Digital Rights Management (DRM) then several readers (including the Kindle & Kindle 2) can read the .PRC or .MOBI file directly. Those that cannot, will be able to easily convert it to another format they can read easily.

And welcome to MR.

Those that cannot, will be able to easily convert it to another format they can read easily, thus further expanding your potential audience.
