How long charging before LED works? Before unit can be powered on?

I connected my DR800 to my laptop earlier on to charge it and the orange light came on but I couldn't power on. I tried to reset it but the light went off. Now the light won't come on at all and I can't power the unit on.

How long after a complete discharge of the battery do you normally need to charge the DR800 before it has enough of a charge to work? To power on or to light the LED orange?

I have half an answer only: for my DR1000S it's 6-10 minutes from "terribly drained" till "it boots and works" (though I wouldn't recommend to stop charging at that point). That's using a USB charger. Your laptop - in particular when running on battery itself - might provide less current.

My experience with DR800S is that it takes a very long time to charge on USB. Use the charger that came with DR800S, leave it to charge overnight and it should power on nicely the following morning.

It's still not working after charging overnight so I've moved discussion to here:

Do you normally charge it from your laptop? It might be that it's not getting enough of a charge that way to really do much.

FIXED!

I took the back panel off and left the battery unplugged for an hour. Plugged it back in and the DR800 came back to life!

Thanks everyone!
