Tonight's 48 Hours Mystery

For anyone who watches the show, tonight's episode is about a murder that took place in the town I live in (and it actually happened while I was living here ... and NO, I did not do it ...).

I didn't know the man who got murdered, although it's a small town (only about 1200-1500 people at most, and that counts the folks who only come up here on weekends).

I'm curious to see what, if anything, they say about the town as a whole.

Hey - I tried that riff on the Cat or Dog thread, but it was waaaaaaay to serious at the time.

is that the BBC Mystery show with the Edward Gorey animation at the beginning ? i love that show. what's the name of the episode ? i'll look for it, if i get the occasion.

No ... this is more of an infotainment/documentary show about real murders that happen ... or real mysteries of any kind ... but mostly it's murders.

They sort of do a study of the people, the event, and the place where it happened.

The thing is .... HSB is sort of a strange little town. I would hazard a guess that more than half of the home here are second (or third or fourth) homes of millionaires or billionaires. Most of the actual land in the (so called) "city" limits is taken up by golf courses, horse pastures, the landing strip, and marinas.

So you've got this patch of lakefront property that is jam-packed with recreational goodies and people with way too much money .... bounded by several towns where regular working people live (and provide services to HSB ... which has little or no services of its own).

It borders on the weird sometimes.
