Unhappy my reader is really confusing me. I need some help please

I'm completely new to ebooks and readers and so far I'm not having much luck.
I've installed everything I'm supposed to, I registered to take advantage of the free ebooks on offer and have had no problems with them. Drag and dropped them onto the reader and they are available when I disconnect from the computer.

However, I've also purchased two ebooks from waterstones, which show up in the Reader Library (I can open and read them on the computer screen) but when I try to drag them onto the reader i get this message :
'This eBook cannot be transferred because the Reader is authorized to another user.' and from there I can only click 'ok.' I've tried resetting the device, uninstalling and reinstalling the reader on my computer but the same thing happens.

Also when I open up the Reader Library i get the message: 'Undefined'

I've tried to solve this problem via the Sony site but it is no help at all, it tells me to authorize the device, but I'm not given the options it says i should have.

Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

How to authorize a Reader to an eBook Store account.
Solution

To transfer books from a computer to the Reader, you must authorize the Reader to your account. Authorization links your Reader to your eBook Store account, allowing books purchased from the eBook Store to be transferred to the authorized Reader. You can authorize up to six devices to a single account.

1. Launch the Reader (eBook) Library software.
2. Log in to your eBook Store account.
3. Turn on the Reader.

NOTE: For best results, we recommend that the Reader be fully charged before starting the authorization process.
4. Connect the Reader to the computer.
5. In the eBook Store pane, click My account .
6. On the Account Management page, under My Authorized Devices , click Manage Devices .
7. On the Manage Device page, under We have detected the following attached Devices: , click the Authorize this device button.

Bremen, thanks for that info. I was able to get my reader hooked up as needed to the store.

I think that you'll find that the message is "undefined error". When I queried this with support they told me it meant nothing at all and was caused by some glitch or other. In other words, ignore it.
