Kindle Voyage
Is the Voyage showing up for anyone else on Amazon (US)? I've seen it sold out before, but I guess I've never noticed it just gone before. Odd.

The Kindle Voyage has been missing from Amazon for around a week now. I assume it is discontinued.

Yep. This is what comes up when you search for the Voyage at Amazon:

I got a new one the last time they were on sale for $149. Now, do we think they are discontinued, or a new model coming out???

I hope they bring out something similar to replace it. My 2016 Kindle Oasis is nearly two years old, and while some really dislike the design I like the size and long-lasting battery life as well as the screen. When I need to replace it, I don't want to move down to a Paperwhite, and I don't want to move up to the Oasis 2017, which is too big size-wise, too expensive and which has a battery that doesn't last long enough. Will have to wait and see.

Everything I've heard points to Amazon settling on three unit levels: Basic, Paperwhite, and Oasis. It sounds like the Voyage is gone and they will not be releasing something new between the Paperwhite and the Oasis. I will note that I have not seen any reputable bloggers report that the Voyage has been discontinued.
Since the Paperwhite is the only of those that does not support Audible, you would think that Amazon would introduce a new model that would replace the Paperwhite (may or may not get a new name). If they are going to release a new model, at this point, it would make sense for them to release it just ahead of the holiday shopping season. |

I hope a Voyage 2 is on the way but I believe that this will probably the end of this line. I'm guessing that Amazon (in some ways) looks at the Oasis and Oasis 2 their new "Voyages."

Sad, but probably true. The large screen on the Oasis is really nice, but I still read on my Voyage about half the time because its ergonomics are much better for me in several ways.

I too hope they issue an updated Voyage. The lighting is SO much better than the Paperwhite for these damaged eyes.

Could not get used to the ergonomics, the poor battery and the Amazon cover kept falling off or shifting enough to turn the Oasis on. Currently, my backup is a Paperwhite 2 and I definitely would buy a used Voyage for backup if they are discontinued. |

I love the size and weight of the Voyage, which is much lighter and more comfortable for me than the Oasis 2; however, for night reading I prefer the Oasis because of the inverted white-on-black mode. I had a feeling that the Voyage would be discontinued so I bought a spare when they went on sale for $149 back in June.

I also love my Voyage--and hope it keeps running for a long time! I know that not everyone agrees with me--but I really like the haptic buttons on the Voyage--I actually like them quite a bit better than physical buttons. I'm okay with touchscreens and swiping to turn pages (like on my Kobo), but the haptic buttons are my choice.
