I find some prologue's for fiction to be a PITA; they reference some future event that doesn't really make sense until you are 3/4 of the way through.

Lot of good design comes down to meeting expectations, and folks expect different things for print vs ebook. This wouldn't be expected behavior, so to me this feels like trying to highlight what you feel is good design, but actually highlighting bad. Bit like: for my print edition I want the first page to fall out when they open the book. They can always put it back.

That's nothing to do with the idea of a Prologue, an author could do it in any chapter. That author would likely still do it if there wasn't a prologue.
