I want to explain my option no. 18 (the dragon-like animal that is NOT a bat). I read in a German newspaper that pet-lovers in the UK have a new favourite pet: a dragon-like animal that looks a little like a bat (but bigger!) and can glide (not fly!). Unfortunately, I canīt remember its name. Has anyone ever heard of it? Since we have a lot of people from the UK here I added this option - just in case itīs really that popular.

I voted for no pet, don't want one - but I just realised I would quite like an artifical pet when they're perfected. Last edited by Sparrow; 04-17-2009 at 04:02 PM. |

well, i voted for "cat" (since there is no option for "2 cats") and also "Yes, I have a pet, but I donīt want one (please explain very detailled how this could happen!)" which more accurately should be "but i didn't want one" since now the hairy buggers have managed to brainwash me into getting attached to them, and i couldn't give them up (much as i am tempted sometimes...). so you want to know all the details ? well... it's a long story, so i'll skip *some* of the details.
one day, i was at a friend's house. she lives in an actual house, not appartment ; you can see the door at the end of the alley, from the street. somebody rang, and she went to answer. when she came back, she had a funny look, and she said to me, "i didn't know what to do, i couldn't say no." me : "???" it turns out, the ring was a guy who was just walking past. he said to her "i'm so sorry to bother you, but i saw your house, and it looked like a friendly place, so i thought i would try. i have this cat, and she's pregnant, but i can't take care of her [i think he was homeless... i'm not sure now]. could you please take her ?" i said, "but where is the cat now ?" and just then a furry black football with legs and ears waddled into the room. my friend didn't want a cat, but she couldn't say no to an expecting mother. so she said to me "but i can't really keep her... you have to help me. we'll *share* her." i didn't want a cat either (small appartment, no garden, no more going away for the weekend at the last minute...) but somehow the word "okay" came out of my mouth before i knew what i was saying. and rather idiotically i thought to myself "well, i do like cats, and maybe *half* a cat is not so much trouble as a *whole* cat..." guess what ? it turns out, you can't share a cat. the kittens were born the next morning very early and the football went back to a normal cat-shape, rather skinny in fact (which i'm pretty sure explains why she is such a glutton now). the whole little family stayed about two weeks at my friend's house, and then it was my turn. that was about 8 years ago, i think, and mama cat (who lately has gotten quite fat and is starting to look like a hairy football again, so it's really not obvious why i named her bast (answer : after the egyptian cat statues !! at the time she was a dead ringer)) and little bug, her kitten, are still wreaking havoc around here every day. *sigh* and it's very difficult to organise my holidays as a result. |

I have a hoomin. He has a wife and 2 kids. But I'm the only 4-legged variety in the house. I didn't see hoomin on the list. So I selected dog cuz I guess I'm his best friend (the poor sot).
