Always. I even downloaded a few books.
The problem remains.

Tracis, are you saying if the screen locks it reconnects and starts syncing over again? I thought I had it just syncing changes. I'll look into it more.

Edit: Can you tell me the file size of your metadata.db. And is this through Calibre Content server or something else?
Sorry, after the screen locks it says "updating library" not syncing and I had to do the search again. When I first opened the app it was syncing (but I had made changes on calibre prior to that.)

After updating to the newest version, I opened the app and it did not sync, it started "updating library." I did a search, got the results, let the screen lock and then it completed the search again when I the screen woke up.

I am connecting via calibre server which is almost always on. My metadata.db is 57.5MB

I've tried the new v1.3.7 of the app.

The Content Server library DB is now available after the first sync, even if I'm not connected to the local/home Wi-Fi or if the Content Server is off-line.

This allows me to browse through the library, even if some (but not all) e-books and/or covers are downloaded.

However, the searching and/or tags/metadata filtering is not working: I'll try a search or a filter, the app will then appear to be doing something, but nothing happens in the end.

setherd, I'll await your PM with a contact email to send you the debug.log that the app is now creating.

Thanks in advance,

The app needs a way to more easily see Series data. With a long series name no matter which view I try I see a truncated view of the series name with no way short of opening the book detail view to see the series number, and even then it's just shown at the end of the series name field.

23 (1.3.7) released with better bug reporting.

Peter can you give an example of a long series name?

25 (1.3.9) was sent out.
series titles should wrap around to display nicer.
I sped up how it connects to the content server. It grabs 500 titles at a time. for large libraries it may take a few minutes. But I'm worried grabbing more at a time will use up too much ram on older or less powerful devices.
If anyone has an ereader I'd love to hear how the performace is.

I've downloaded and installed v1.3.9 and already sent a debug log to setherd: filtering and searching are working fine now on my rather large +17.000 ebooks library.

My only remaining concerns are for features that I think are missing, such as:

1. Batch download: using check boxes, select a group of ebooks, after a search or filter, and then download them on a queue/batch process.
2. There's filtering for tags or labels (open an ebook, press on a tag button), but it would be useful to have it also for author and series
3. E-book language data (and it's filter)
4. Downloaded/pending download data (and it's filter)

Other than that, I do like this app and I think it's shaping up nicely.

Gratefully,

Batch download; filter on language, tags, and author; Search in Gutenberg. All done. just testing and refining. I like filtering on author, you can tap the name and see everything in the library by that author.

Here's a tester-friendly changelog for **v1.4.1+27**:

- **Select All now actually selects all** — tapping Select All in multi-select mode now grabs every book matching your current filter, not just what you've scrolled to. The selected count in the top bar now matches the total count shown under the filters.
- **Unified search for Project Gutenberg** — the main search bar now also searches subjects/genres on Gutenberg, and the book count updates accurately as you type.
- **Tap an author name to filter** — in the book detail view, author names are now clickable. Tap one to see every book by that author in your library.
- **Fixed: iPad black screen** — tapping a tag, language, or series chip on iPad no longer causes a black screen.

Little suggestion. Maybe the time has come to start making new threads with meaningful titles to allow easy segregation of topics rather than continually appending to the one thread

I'd like to keep this one for new releases and see people post questions in new threads. Or do you think I should do new threads for new releases?

I'd recommend either a thread per release (so that comments in the thread can be just about that release) or a locked sticky thread for all release announcements, with people creating support threads when they encounter problems.

You might also want discussion threads on features you're considering, if you're interested in what users think of features you're working on.
