Need to get 129MB of archives. After unpacking 322MB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]
Thanks, but I don't feel like installing 322MB just for a simple converter.

You run Linux, but don't have OpenOffice already installed?

Just about any other office package should be able to do that too.

I need a console-based app to automate the process of converting our newsletter to something like PDF or RTF.

Ah, now I understand.

Nope. I don't know about that. Since RTF is basically text-based, you should be able to write something that will convert HTML tags to RTF tags.

That's probably what I should do. Or learn LaTeX for good and use one of the LaTeX to RTF tools out there

DocFrac might be worth trying. I have never used it, but I have seen it recommended for rtf2html. Its links page includes a list of other tools that might do the job.

Not automated but: abiword

Not automated, but for small word-processing stuff, abiword's always been good to me.
