Contact cleaner (that is safe for plastic). With Lube if dust is not an issue. (we used to have 'Tuner Tonic' in the 60's, Volume control cleaner for those old variable resistor (pots) controls. |

Often fanfics provide something that the original author didn't do but the fans wanted to see. As an example, many fans of the manga/anime Ranma 1/2 wanted to see a pairing of Ryoga Hibiki and Ukyo Kuonji but the author just created a custom-made girlfriend for Ryoga. So many fanfic writers have written stories pairing Ryoga and Ukyo. |

Yeah, mine's a logitech mouse too. I think they're known for bad switches. Sounds weird but I found shaking it really hard sometimes helps but it's temporary.

Any suggestions? (I strongly prefer USB wireless over bluetooth for keyboards and mice.) |

I use Kensington trackballs because of tendonitis in both wrists. I might use a mouse on rare occasions if I'm in the office.

You might find that the actual mouse button is one of the more standard types. You might be able to find another in a scrapped mouse.
Fortunately for my custom keyfob I have plenty of spare buttons and anticipate I'll have to change one at some point. I'm not a fan of "2.4 GHz" (non-BT). I don't like eating up a USB jacks for a proprietary dongle. If you use mismatched keyboard/mouse that's two jacks. Of course some people have lots of problems with BT. |

The actual buttons are usually 30c Tact switches.
I find the cheap USB corded Trust brand (Dutch & made in China) quite good. Years ago DELL and MS Mice were OK. Logitech was the original, but has been overpriced and poorer quality for years. I see only disadvantages to BT and especially proprietary cord-free mice. Some models claimed to be Gamer or more easy to use are worse. A small one is tiring as you can't rest your palm on it. I rest the "heel" of my hand on the desk and mouse end opposite cable and buttons is in my palm so there is full support. I think pointing pebble is a more accurate description, especially if wireless/cordless |

There are so few ports now on laptops / chromebooks /tablet as laptop that I have hubs anyway often for ethernet (stupid designs too thin for an ethernet port) or other things, so a corded USB mouse is no bother. The USB-C directive should specify a minimum of two USB-C ports. Also it doesn't forbid ALSO having a standard coax power plug. I managed to find a USB-C to USB-A with a USB-C that works to charge host, but it doesn't support higher powers. |

OR A USB dongle can be proprietary 27 MHz, 49 MHz or 2.4GHz, and usually only works with device it came with (joypad, mouse, keyboard). May not be encrypted. In theory the 315 / 430 approx (USA vs elsewhere), or Euro 864 MHz (USA maybe 915 MHz?) can be used, but I've not seen mice use those. However sometimes BT isn't secure either. |
